Garrett was raised on Oahu and attended the University of Hawaii and Manoa, where he graduated with a BA degree in art. Garrett worked at several animation studios in California before returning to Hawaii and is currently an art teacher at Hawaii Baptist Academy.Judy Dill is a mathematics educator and highly regarded teacher of statistics in Hawaiis schools.

Jan is the founder and president of Partners in Development Foundation, anotfor-profit organization committed to working with the children and families of Hawaii. Jan and Judy have five grown children and eleven moopuna (grandchildren).
